During the Desert Challenge in 2004 I had a really great service team

 

Rob's tireless, friendly and positive smile played a big part in this. He always had a solution to any problem surfacing and never went to bed if there were open issues. Thanks for that Rob!
It makes me very sad to report that Rob had a very serious accident with his bike during a New Year's Eve trip in the dunes around Abu Dhabi. All of this in front of his friends, their families and his wife. Even after immediate intensive care, he had not recovered from it and died a few days later in the hospital!

Now it would have been up to us to help him, but unfortunately all our efforts were unsuccessful. Sorry Rob that we couldn't give you anything back from what you had brought in to our life. We were waiting for a miracle ... unfortunately it didn't happen!

Rob, we will always miss you and you will always be in our hearts. Whenever we drive into the desert, there is a rally somewhere in the world or someone looks at this site. Chiao Rob!
